In response to the severe flooding caused by rising Ganga and Varuna river waters since late July 2025, the Varanasi Province of the Indian Missionary Society (VPIMS) has launched an emergency relief programme for the most affected communities in Varanasi district with the support of Agnes Cost Wenster, Fragonard, Parfumeur, France.
Through our local missions and field outreach, VPIMS is providing dry ration kits and basic medical supplies to over 500 vulnerable families—including those in slums, low-lying villages, and informal settlements—whose homes, livelihoods, and access to food have been devastated by the floods.
This initiative aims to safeguard the right to food, health, and dignity of flood-hit families, in close coordination with local authorities and community leaders.
