The Varanasi Province of the Indian Missionary Society launched five Tailoring Training Centres on 11 October 2025 as part of its ongoing Skill Development Initiative for rural adolescent girls. The inauguration coincided with the International Day of the Girl Child and witnessed enthusiastic participation from community leaders, women’s groups, and 42 adolescent girls, with a total gathering of 130 participants. The centres were inaugurated across five locations Rampur, Dubkiya, Delhana, Deura, and Umarha each committed to providing safe and empowering learning spaces for young girls in rural and tribal communities.

These tailoring centres aim to equip adolescent girls with practical skills in stitching, cutting, tailoring, and basic design, along with introductory entrepreneurship training. The program is designed to enhance livelihood opportunities, build confidence, and promote economic independence for girls who have limited access to skill development avenues. Through hands-on training, mentoring, and community involvement, the initiative seeks to create pathways for self-employment, income generation, and long-term empowerment among rural young women.
