Post initiation and identification of cases, the primary thing we have initiated was to form Community Health Groups in each of the slums. This is an exclusive group of pregnant and lactating women who are part of our case. 25 groups are formed. This time we have brought both pregnant and feeding mothers together under one Health Group. Meetings are held once a month. A total of 338 meetings were held so far. Every meeting is attended by the nurse/counsellor or the coordinator besides the animator and every-time a new topic is taken up to address the women. In this meeting the issues of the slum is addressed, community support is ensured and community care is promoted. There is positive attitudinal change in the slum dwellers, improvement in the hygiene of the slum. We feel the warmth of welcome in each slums.
